Session-Cookies

Our website uses so-called session-cookies, which are valid until all browser-windows are closed. We need these session-cookies in order to process your inquiry on our website and to navigate you to different parts of the website. We have a legitimate interest in this, as we would not be able to operate the website in this way without session cookies (Art. 6 I 1 f EU-GDPR). If you do not want to allow the usage of cookies, you can block the usage of cookies in your browser settings. You can also visit our website with blocked cookies, but you cannot fully use it.

Server Log files

Furthermore, your browser transmits access data, so-called server log files, with every visit. We use them to ensure system security and to compile utilization statistics. Especially the time of your visit request, the site from where you came (referrer.URL), the visited parts of our website, your IP-address, the data volume and the browser type you use, are transmitted. The data is needed to ensure system security, e.g. to identify and block hackers. This constitutes a legitimate interest (Art. 6 I 1 f EU-GDPR).

Contacting Us and Account

On our website, we offer the opportunity to contact us, either by email and/or by using a contact form. In such event, your private data (name, email address, address, phone number and message content) is stored exclusively for the purpose of facilitating communications with you. This constitutes a legitimate interest (Art. 6 I 1 f EU-GDPR). No data is transferred to third parties. Nor is any of this information matched to any information that may be collected by other components of our website.

In addition, we offer you the opportunity to create an account. We store and process the personal data (name, email address, password) collected exclusively for the purpose of creating and providing the account, as a non-profit service (Art. 6 I 1 b EU-GDPR). You may choose whether your account can be viewed by other Tower recruiters or only by the recruiters who handle the jobs you have applied for.

Job Alert

We provide the possibility to use the function “Job Alert” on our website. Job Alert informs you personally via email as soon as a job that might be of interest for you is posted. We verify if you are the owner of the email address provided for the use of Job Alert. With your registration for Job Alert, we will store your IP address and the date and time of your registration for proof in case of misuse of email addresses. In addition, we collect and store the information you provide in the context of Job Alert, but do not forward it to third parties or compare it with existing data, but process it to the extent necessary to carry out Job Alert. You may cancel the Job Alert at any time. Details on cancellation can be found in the verification email as well as in each Job Alert.

Publication of Vacancy Announcements / Job Applications

All private data included in your application (name, address, contact data, CV etc.) will be electronically collected and used for the purpose of processing the application (Art. 88 GDPR; § 26 BDSG). If your application results in the conclusion of an employment contract, the data collected from you may be stored in your personnel file for purposes of the usual organizational and administrative processes in compliance with applicable legal data privacy requirements.

The deletion of your personal applicant data is done in accordance with the applicable data protection law. Before we permanently delete your personal applicant data, we will inform you that you can prevent such deletion by logging in to your account. Your personal data may be forwarded to affiliated companies within the EU to process the application and recruitment, and may in single cases also be forwarded to affiliated companies located in the USA for the same purpose. This is legitimate interest (Art. 6 I 1 f EU-GDPR). We are ensuring an appropriate data security level with EU standard contractual clauses for intracompany data transfer to the USA.

Use of Facebook components

On our website, you can click on a Facebook tool and view our information there or exchange with others about our offers. You can recognize this function by the respective icon.

The plugin is deactive, so no data will be transmitted to the provider, as long as you do not click on the links. If you click on the links, your data will be transmitted to Facebook, especially the page from which you are coming. This also applies even if you do not have an own Facebook account or are not logged in to Facebook.

We have no control over which personal data Facebook collects and how Facebook processes it. We do not know this either. Please note that Facebook is located outside the EU and your data is therefore likely to be transmitted to third countries that do not necessarily have an adequate level of data protection. Further information on the handling of your data is available on Facebook.

Through social media linking, we enable you to receive offers that are even more attractive, also on other channels from us, and to communicate directly with these offers and their users. We designed our website in this way to make it more attractive and interesting for you. The embedding of social media linking is therefore in our predominant legitimate corporate interest (Art. 6 I 1 f EU-GDPR). By clicking actively on the respective icon, you can decide whether personal data will be transmitted to third-party providers.

Facebook is based in the US. Insofar as personal data is transmitted there, a sufficient level of data protection is secured via the EU-US Privacy Shield to which Facebook has submitted.

Rights of affected people

If personal data is used that refers to you as a natural person, you have various data protection rights against us. In accordance with Art. 15 EU-GDPR (and § 34 BDSG), you have the right to be informed about the data stored on your person and their origin, the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data is forwarded and the purpose of the storage.

In addition, you may be entitled to correction, deletion or restriction (of processing) of your personal data in accordance with Art. 16 - 18 EU-GDPR (and § 35 BDSG). Also, according to Art. 20 EU-GDPR you can request the transfer of the data to another responsible authority.

Moreover, you may reject further processing of your data if we process your data based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6 I 1 f EU GDPR). As far as we do not process your data for advertising purposes, this requires a reason that arises from your particular situation. In the case of a contradiction, we will no longer process your personal data from receipt during the following examination and delete it after the conclusion of the examination, if justified (Art. 21 EU-GDPR and § 36 BDSG).

You can withdraw your consent to data processing (Art. 6 I 1 a EU-GDPR) at any time; we will not process your personal data then, unless there is a legal permission for this.

An rejection or revocation does not affect the admissibility of data processing in the past.

We fulfill your rights immediately and free of charge. Please contact us or our commissioner for data privacy; our contact details can be found at the beginning of this data privacy policy.

Finally, according to Art. 77 EU-GDPR you have the right file complaints at the competent data protection supervisory authority.
